Add Glitter to Your Potatoes

Who said you can't add glitter* to your potatoes? Or your smoothie bowl? Or your fried chicken? It's silly. And we deserve more silliness in our lives.

A lot of people around me feel like the world is on fire. The news is so overwhelming that it's hard to see any silver linings or space for optimism. But there is, I promise. And you get to create it for yourself and others.

We want to see something beautiful, fun, and special in the world. So we need to stop relying on others for it and create it ourselves.

It feels daunting or perhaps even frivolous. But, 1. the word frivolous is fun to say so let's add more opportunities to say it and 2. what may start as feeling frivolous can turn into feelings of relief and joy.

When we lean a little further into something that others may judge, but we think is fun, we're shifting away from fear and stepping into courage and excitement. Doing that more and more has a compounding effect and we can begin to find more ways to feel brave and begin going after the fun things we love.

Start small. Your big, joyful creation doesn't have to happen today. Go after something that's accessible right now, amongst the anxiety and fear. You don't even have to fully believe it yet. So go ahead and add that glitter to your potatoes.
