Be the Joy You Wish to See in the World

I read a joy book once that mentioned drinking a glass of water in the morning as joyful and I felt disappointed.

Drinking a glass of water in the morning is great and I feel like it sets me up more successfully for a day of hydration. But it absolutely doesn't bring me joy. And my wish is that we all strive a little higher with our joy goals.

With all things, joy practices take time to cultivate and often start with small steps. But what I would love to see happen is that the joy people are going after is BIG.

It's the joy that is so uniquely and authentically you that it just oozes out of you. It's the joy that changes the temperature in your body and shifts the energy within you. You feel so much excitement you might just burst. That's the big joy energy I'm after and I wish for everyone.

And we don't get that from a glass of water.

So where do we get it? Exploration, testing things out, listening to our intuition, and being an example to others.

I want to see people dress in ways that are more exciting, colorful, and experimental. So I dress that way.

I want to see people choose whimsy over function, so I choose more whimsy.

We get to be catalysts for the change we want to see.
